Unilever Delays Layoffs at Ice Cream PlantPosted: Updated:
New Jersey-based Unilever United States Inc. (NYSE: UN) says it will permanently part with more than 150 northeast Indiana workers later than originally anticipated. In a notice to the state, the parent company of Breyers Ice Cream says employees' last day will now be near the end of August. The Journal Gazette in Fort Wayne reports the ice cream manufacturer has been located in Huntington for more than a century.
Unilever had been pondering the move to facilties that could offer more growth capacity.
