The president of the Indiana Chamber of Commerce says he is extremely disappointed with the election result for Indiana Superintendent of Public Instruction. Kevin Brinegar says Republican Tony Bennett, who was upset by Democrat Glenda Ritz, was a champion of education reform and says the result was the "shocker" of election night.
He says results in the Indiana House and Senate are positive signs for Hoosier businesses.
Brinegar says virtually all the legislators who voted in favor of education reform were re-elected and the Superintendent of Public Instruction was not.
He says it will be interesting to watch the impact the result has on future education reform.
