SBJ reporter Tripp Mickle told Inside INdiana Business in the past month that the group has hired a high-powered lawfirm to help with the bid.

His updated report, published Friday, says several current team owners have been approached to be part of the group.

George oversaw the merger of the Indy Racing League and CHAMP Car series four years ago.

He resigned a year later and was eventually replaced at the helm of IndyCar by current Chief Executive Officer Randy Bernard.
