The Indiana Department of Education is set to honor the winners of the nation's top math and science teaching award. Six winners of the Presidential Award for Excellence in Mathematics and Science Teaching will be recognized today at a ceremony featuring Superintendent of Public Instruction Tony Bennett.

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. - Indiana State Superintendent of Public Instruction Dr. Tony Bennett and the Indiana Department of Education will recognize the Indiana finalists for the Presidential Award for Excellence in Mathematics and Science Teaching (PAEMST) at a luncheon on October 15, 2012 at the Indiana Historical Society.
PAEMST was established in 1983 and serves as the nation’s highest honor for mathematics and science teachers. More than 4,100 mathematics and science educators have been recognized for the contributions to the profession since the award’s founding.
