A federal court in California has upheld a decision to allow a photo library to use images of the late Marilyn Monroe. Indianapolis-based CMG Worldwide and the wife of Monroe's late acting coach have been in court battles with Milton H. Greene Archives Inc. over the use of some photographs of the actress.
Reuters reports the arguments have revolved around where Monroe lived at the time of when the pictures were taken.
Under New York State Law, Monroe would not have had rights to the intellectual property.
The court ruled the photos were taken in the state, so her estate was not granted possession.
