Feigenbaum says the potential for expanded gaming in Ohio remains a threat.
Illinois Governor Pat Quinn has rejected a proposal to expand gaming in the state. Indiana Gaming Insight Editor Ed Feigenbaum says the plan would have harmed the economy of more than just the northwest part of Indiana. Feigenbaum tells Inside INdiana Business a potential site in Danville, Illinois would have affected casinos in French Lick, Evansville and central Indiana.
Our partners at The Times of Northwest Indiana report Illinois Governor Pat Quinn vetoed the bill citing insufficient oversight.
A similar bill crafted last year was never sent to Gov. Quinn due to the threat of veto.
Lawmakers in the state still have the opportunity to override the veto.
