Baker says he sees an upswing in Indiana's tech sector.
The head of a Muncie technology incubator says he wants the organization to become a regional player. Muncie Innovation Connector Inc. Executive Director Ted Baker says a $75,000 grant from the U.S. Department of Agriculture and a partnership with Ivy Tech Community College will help the center become a "gateway for entrepreneurship" to rural areas outside Muncie.
Baker says the USDA grant will allow the organization to establish the East Central Indiana Rural Revolving Loan Fund, which will help entrepreneurs in rural areas establish, start and grow businesses.
In addition, the Innovation Connector is now the host location for the East Central Indiana Small Business Development Center.
He says the center will also be home to a satellite office of the Service Corps of Retired Executives, which provides mentoring services to small business owners.
