The sports complex and baseball field improvements cost an estimated $3.9 million. The funds were gifts provided by alumni, parents and friends of the university.
“Taylor University has long recognized the value of our intercollegiate athletic program is not measured only in terms of wins and losses, but also by their impact on the lives of our students, community and alumni,” said Dr. Eugene B. Habecker, President of Taylor University. “We are so grateful that this vision is shared by these alumni, parents and friends who have shown their approval with their sacrificial and generous support of this important project. We are very excited that in the coming months our athletes will be able to practice and compete in facilities that match their outstanding achievements.”
“It is the commitment and foresight of these friends of Taylor that made these projects possible,” said Dr. Angie Fincannon, Director of Intercollegiate Athletics at Taylor University. “These new and upgraded facilities are among our conference’s finest. There has been a lot of interest in the project from its beginning and we believe the new and upgraded facilities will impact the entire athletic program at Taylor.
