Renovated High School Opens

LEBANON, Ind. - Monday August 13, 2012 will be an historic day in the City of Lebanon Indiana as Lebanon Community School Corporation will open its new high school.

Tiger Pride is expected fill the hallways as students show up for their first day of classes in the new building. Teachers and staff are already in awe of their new surroundings having arrived August 6th to set up their rooms and offices for the fall semester.

"Lebanon Schools parents and patrons have made a sizable investment in their school system but most importantly in their young people," said Lebanon Superintendent Dr. Robert Taylor.

"This new state of the art 21st century learning center will allow our students to have the technology and space they need to excel in their academic pursuits for decades to come."
The total cost of the building project is 40-million dollars which will include work on nine buildings including six schools and three support buildings.

An exciting component of the new building is a first of a kind 110,000 square foot City Center. It’s the first ever partnership between the City of Lebanon and the school corporation to provide a large hall for public meetings, corporate retreats, conventions and other public and private events. The center isn’t expected to open until December.

Phase 2 of the new high school is scheduled for completion December 2012. Phase 3 will be finished July 2013 and the entire project is scheduled for completion in January 2014.
