The Indianapolis Star is planning to sell its downtown building. President and Publisher Karen Crotchfelt says the newspaper will look to replace its home of more than 100 years with a new location that "better suits" its current size and needs.
Crotchfelt says the company hopes to remain downtown.
The publication last month cut 62 jobs and announced that 19 positions would not be filled as part of company-wide cuts from parent Gannett Co. Inc. (NYSE: CGI). The company announced in February it would begin charging for online content by the end of the year.
