Indiana Companies Among Fortune 500
Six Indiana companies are on this year's Fortune 500 list. The annual rankings, based on revenue, place Indianapolis-based WellPoint Inc. (NYSE: WLP) at the top in the state, although it slipped three spots nationally from last year.
WellPoint ranks 45th, while Eli Lilly and Co. (NYSE: LLY) is number 119, and Cummins Inc. (NYSE: CMI) is 150.
Fort Wayne-based Steel Dynamics Inc. (Nasdaq: STLD) is 323, NiSource Inc. (NYSE: NI) in Merrillville is 409 and BrightPoint Inc. (Nasdaq: CELL) is 463, up from 582 on last year's list.
