Fort Wayne Job Fair to Focus on Veterans

The Greater Fort Wayne Chamber of Commerce is hosting a job fair for veterans Thursday. The free "Hire Our Heroes" event is set to feature more than 60 employers and is open to active duty service members, veterans and eligible spouses.

The Chamber says they have filled up the maximum number of attending employers, but a waiting list is still available.

They ask job seekers to register in advance through the fair's website.

Fort Wayne, Ind. -- More than 60 employers have lined up to join The Greater Fort Wayne Chamber of Commerce, the U.S. Chamber of Commerce and a host of other sponsors on May 10 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. for a hiring fair for veteran job seekers, active duty military members, Guard and Reserve members and eligible spouses in the Allen County War Memorial Coliseum, 4000 Parnell Ave., Fort Wayne, Ind.

This event will be a one-of-a-kind FREE hiring fair for employers who are committed to hiring veterans and job seekers. Employers and job seekers are strongly encouraged to pre-register for FREE at HoH.GreatJob.net. Walk-ins are welcome but space is not guaranteed. If you need assistance registering, please contact The U.S. Chamber of Commerce at hiringourheroes@uschamber.com.

The event is being conducted by the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, The Greater Fort Wayne Chamber of Commerce, the Department of Laborís Veteransí Employment and Training Service (DOL VETS), the Indiana Committee of the Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve (ESGR), the 122 Force Support Squadron, the 1-293 Infantry Batallion, NIHRA, WorkOne Northeast, NBC News, and other local partners.
