Indiana Brewer Taps Sports Deal
Tomboni says the Indiana Triathlon Series could be an economic boost to the region.
Indianapolis-based Triton Brewing Co. will sponsor an eight-race triathlon series this summer. Muncie Multi-Sport Inc. will organize the innaugural Indiana Triathlon Series, which will include courses in Indianapolis, Richmond, Muncie and New Castle. Muncie Multi-Sport Chief Executive Officer Steve Tomboni says triathlons are gaining popularity among athletes and fans, and Muncie is the home of one of the longest-running events.

Triton Brewing Company (www.tritonbrewing.com) is excited about the opportunity to sponsor the inaugural Indiana Triathlon Series managed by Muncie Multi Sports (MMS). After many months of discussions, both groups believe this partnership will be great for the sport and for Indiana. It is Triton’s hope that our partnership with MMS will take triathlons in Indiana to the next level.
Triton is not going to unveil all of our secrets for the year, but here are just a few tastings that Triton is brewing up for this inaugural season:
Tri Beer: Brewmaster Jon Lang is crafting a special brew for the Indiana Triathlon Series. This “tri” beer will be available at Indiana Triathlon Series events and the brewery.
Series Kickoff Celebration: Triton is hosting a Series Kickoff Celebration for all triathletes on April 14, 2012. Your team and other Indiana triathlon teams are welcome to attend this celebration. The staff at Triton will be providing a tour of the facility and the inaugural tasting of the tri beer.
Transition Party: Between the June 9 and July 28 races, Triton will be having a Transition Party. What better way to transition from the first part of the Series into the second part of the Series.
Post-Race Recovery: Triton understands the hours of commitment and dedication for all triathletes. Following each race, athletes and volunteers are invited to attend a Post-Race Recovery Party at a central Indiana restaurant. This is a great chance for athletes and their friends and family to celebrate their accomplishments from the day.
Lawrence Triathlons: The inaugural Series will have two races in Lawrence, Indiana (May 26 and September 22). The races are just blocks away from brewery located on Fort Benjamin Harrison at 5764 Wheeler Road. Triton hopes that everyone will sign up for both of these races and then finish off the race with some post-race beverages at Triton.
These events are only but a few tastings that Triton is serving up for the 2012 Indiana Triathlon Series. Stay on top of these events by “liking” Triton and MMS on Facebook, and by registering today for one, or all eight of the 2012 races on MMS’s website at www.munciemultisport.com.
