County Revises Major Economic Development Deal

InsideINdianaBusiness.com Report

Delaware County Commission President Todd Donati tells Inside INdiana Business the county remains committed to the Brevini operation.

Delaware County has restructured an economic development agreement with Brevini Wind USA. The revisions extend a job creation target for wind turbine gear box manufacturer by about one year. That should coincide with plans to finish construction of a rail spur to help the company. The county should also gain an additional $5 million over the life of a tax increment financing district, which will likely be used to help fund more improvements in the area.

The county is expected to issue a new TIF bond in the next 120 days, which was originally agreed to with the initial deal was put together in October 2008.

That's when Brevini announced the manufacturing facility and plans to locate its U.S. headquarters in Delaware County.

Brevini officials say they have already invested $35 million in Delaware County.
