The Eiteljorg Museum in downtown Indianapolis is planning a ribbon-cutting this week to open the sixth round of its fellowship for Native American Fine Art. Consul General of Canada Robert Noble and officials from the city of Indianapolis are expected to attend Friday morning's ceremony. The program grants $25,000 to each of five Native American or First Nations artists.

Eiteljorg Museum holds ribbon-cutting ceremony with Consul General of Canada and the City of Indianapolis to open sixth round of Fellowship exhibition
The Eiteljorg Museum will open the sixth round of the Eiteljorg Fellowship for Native American Fine Art at a press conference and ribbon-cutting ceremony Friday, Nov. 13, 2009 at 8:30 a.m.
This program grants $25,000 to each of five Native American or First Nations artists. The museum produces an exhibition, publishes a catalog and purchases work for the permanent collection.
The Fellowship program has helped the museum gain international recognition with several critics and curators stating that the museum has the “finest collection of Native contemporary art in the world.”
