Summer Learning Program Puts Out Call for Teachers

Indianapolis, Indiana – More than 100 summer teaching positions for the Summer Advantage USA program in the greater Indianapolis area are now being offered by VivIO Consulting Group.

Interested educators must apply online by Friday, May 15, in order to receive an invitation for a May 20 Summer Advantage Job Fair. VivIO is the hiring consultant selected to recruit the teachers needed for this summer’s program in Decatur Township, Indiana.

Summer Advantage USA is a summer learning experience for children from kindergarten to grade 3. Scholars will enjoy an array of academics and enrichment such as art, music, drama, physical fitness, and community service that connects them with experienced educators and caring adult mentors. The program will help to engage parents more deeply in the education of their children.

Specific positions needed for the summer enrichment program include; Academic Teachers, Enrichment Teachers, and Teacher’s Assistants. After applying, interviews will be held at the May 20 job fair, and those selected will begin training by June 8. The program runs June 22 to July 24 and is open to children from the greater Indianapolis area.

Summer Advantage USA has openings for the following:

· Academic Teachers, using Summer Advantage’s curriculum, will support basic academic skill development and support the summer theme.

-Enrichment Teachers will create and lead a specific program that augments the academic program, supports the learning objectives, and reflects the summer theme. Enrichment Teachers will fully engage the scholars in art, music, drama, debate, technology, science or physical education.

-Teacher’s Assistants support the Academic and Enrichment Teachers in providing lessons to scholars as well as providing the scholars with continuity and mentorship.
