INDIANAPOLIS – Ron Stiver has been chosen as Senior Vice President of Engagement and External Affairs for Clarian Health.
In his role as senior vice president, Stiver will direct Clarian's community relations, government affairs, as well as marketing and corporate communications strategies and operations.
Appointed by Governor Mitch Daniels in October of 2006 as Commissioner of the Indiana Bureau of Motor Vehicles (BMV), Stiver led the transformation of the 2200 employee agency. Under Ron’s leadership the agency recently received the 2008 Exceptional Customer Service Award from the American Association of Motor Vehicle Administrators (AAMVA).
He is a current board member of Leadership Edge, Special Olympics of Indiana and the Indianapolis Private Industry Council.
“I am pleased to be joining Clarian Health,” said Stiver. “My focus will be on furthering the mission and values of this great organization through community leadership, outreach and advocacy. I am excited to be joining a progressive team which provides exceptional care to Indiana residents and beyond, and I look forward to contributing in a significant way.”
Clarian Health President and CEO, Daniel F. Evans, Jr., is equally pleased to welcome Stiver to the organization. “We are very pleased that Ron is joining Clarian,” said Evans. “At this critical time, with the political and economic changes we are facing, this position has become even more essential for Clarian’s success. Ron brings a wealth of experience and expertise and has demonstrated success in a myriad of areas. I am confident his knowledge of the state and leadership experience will enhance relationships with our partners and constituents as we fulfill our mission. He will be a tremendous asset to the organization, and we are delighted to have him join the Clarian team."
Prior to his role at the BMV Stiver was Commissioner of the Indiana Department of Workforce Development where he reorganized Indiana’s state-run workforce development system to a regionally-driven system, shifting millions of dollars from administration and overhead to training.
Stiver graduated from DePauw University with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Economics, and Duke University, The Fuqua School of Business, with a Master of Business Administration Degree.
Stiver will report directly to Evans. He will assume his new role January 19th.
