Indiana Town Featured on The Travel Channel

The southern Indiana town of Santa Claus is one the destinations featured on The Travel Channel's holiday special Most Christmasy Places in America. The episode will include footage from the 2007 Christmas in Santa Claus Festival and highlight the Christmas Lake Village Festival of Lights, Santa Claus Post Office and Santa's Candy Castle. The show will air Thanksgiving Day and be rebroadcast throughout the holiday season.

Santa Claus, Ind. -- The festive town of Santa Claus, Ind., will be featured Thanksgiving Day on The Travel Channel’s holiday special Most Christmasy Places in America.

The show, which features a variety of holiday destinations across the country, will air on Thanksgiving Day, November 27, at 8:00 p.m. CST. It will also rebroadcast throughout the holiday season.

The Travel Channel is the only television network devoted exclusively to travel entertainment and is available in more than 90 million homes in the United States.

Scenes for the show were filmed during the 2007 Christmas in Santa Claus Festival. Attractions featured include the Christmas Lake Village Festival of Lights, Santa Claus Post Office, Santa’s Lodge, Santa’s Candy Castle, and The Santa Claus Museum.

This year’s Christmas in Santa Claus Festival will be held Saturday and Sunday Dec. 13-14 in Santa Claus, Indiana, located off I-64 between Evansville, Ind., and Louisville, Ky. This year crafts will be offered in three locations, including the Santa Claus Community Center, Santa’s Lodge Celebration Room, and Santa Claus American Legion Hall. A free shuttle will transport visitors to all craft locations as well as the Kringle Place Shopping Center and Santa’s Candy Castle. Each year a new picture postmark cancellation stamp is available for holiday mail at the Santa Claus, Ind. Post Office.
