Press Release

INDIANAPOLIS -- A new Indianapolis-based non-profit today announced its launch and inaugural event. Giving Sum (www.givingsum.org) targets next generation givers in order to inspire, engage and educate those who want to take a more active role in helping our community through their financial gifts and volunteer efforts.

“Giving Sum was designed to engage the next generation and mobilize their passions, talents and resources to support innovative community initiatives,” stated Marty Posch, Giving Sum president and co-founder. “We know many people in their 20s, 30s and 40s who want to be more educated and active with Central Indiana civic causes. Giving Sum allows participants to learn about critical community needs, volunteer their time, reward deserving organizations, and network with their peers.”

A launch party is scheduled for Tuesday, April 1, at 7 p.m. at the Athenaeum Ballroom, 401 E. Michigan Street. Anyone interested in learning more about Giving Sum is invited to attend. Reservations are accepted at RSVP@givingsum.org.

Giving Sum is a charitable nonprofit organization. One hundred percent of a member’s annual $500 contribution is fully tax deductible under the law and is designated to Giving Sum’s annual grants to Central Indiana non-profits. Members will be proactive in researching grant applications, and each member will have a vote as to how the funds are allocated. In addition to the grant, members are encouraged to become actively involved with the innovative nonprofit chosen by volunteering their time and talent to create a more engaging partnership. All membership contributions and donations are tax deductible.

Giving Sum will:

· Engage members in diverse volunteer opportunities throughout the year, providing valuable exposure to multiple nonprofit organizations and helping raise awareness for critical community needs.

· Provide significant financial resources and volunteer support to organizations managing innovative programs in the community.

· Educate members through highly interactive opportunities with leaders who are making a difference in the community.

· Encourage social and professional networking through fun and rewarding member functions.

Giving Sum has an annual goal of granting at least $50,000 and contributing over 5,000 hours of volunteer service to the community.
