Indianapolis Company Fires Dozens of Workers

Indianapolis-based Angie’s List is experiencing some personnel changes. The company says it has asked 38 employees to leave, 26 of those are in the advertising department. But, the consumer services agency says these are not layoffs since the workers will be replaced. Instead, the company says the firings were prompted by low performance.

A spokeswoman for the company tells Inside INdiana Business that Angie’s List still anticipates growing by as much as 100 percent next year.

The company has experienced fast growth in recent years. In October of 2005, it had 124 employees. That had grown to 220 in October of 2006 and to 382 in October of this year. Today, the company employs 345 workers.
