The new, 90,000 square-foot hospital will be designed to better accommodate out-patient care. The original hospital was built in 1955 and was designed primarily for in-patient care.

Officials hope to break ground on the estimated $24 million facility as early as October and complete the hospital in about 15 months. An attached medical office building will cost another $6 million and be 60,000 square feet.
