The company will use a City of Fort Wayne vehicle in its demonstration. The vehicle will travel Jefferson Boulevard, St. Joe Center Road, Getz Road, and Main Street to show how the Real-Time Transportation Infrastructure Information System works.
Sensors in vehicles are used to compile real-time data on road conditions and traffic flow to name a few. The data is then relayed to local government officials. The technology is also being used in the private sector. Boeing is a partner with ZOOM.
“We are very excited about this new technology,” said Fort Wayne Mayor Graham Richard. “ZOOM Information Systems is helping Fort Wayne in being recognized as a technology and innovation leader in the Midwest and a great place to start a software development company. We also anticipate that ZOOM’s efforts will make our streets safer and improve our services to the community.”
“ZOOM is excited about the numerous possibilities for this new technology,” said Mike Fritsch, President of ZOOM Information Systems. “Our technology will save money and improve road conditions for the City of Fort Wayne and other cities across the country.”
ZOOM’s presentation runs from 8-9:45 a.m. at the Omni Shoreham Hotel, 2500 Calvert St. NW, Washington, D.C.
