Construction is underway on a $7 million memory care facility in Mishawaka. North Woods Village at Edison Lakes is set to be complete in December and could bring more than 40 jobs to the area.

MISHAWAKA, Ind. - Michiana's first stand-alone memory care facility will soon become a reality. Dane Slabaugh, Principle and Managing Partner of True North Group, LLC, has finalized plans and broken ground to build a state-of-the-art memory care community concept, NorthWoods Village at Edison Lakes.
The private equity company has entered into a construction agreement with Holladay Properties, Inc. of South Bend to build the facility, which will be situated at 1409 East Day Road, just east of the intersection of Day and Filbert Roads in Mishawaka. "North Woods Village at Edison Lakes will provide our area with focused care and treatment to meet the increasing demand for those suffering from the effects of Alzheimer's Disease, Dementia and related memory issues" according to Mr. Slabaugh.
Operations for North Woods Village will be managed by regional memory care specialist Randall Residence, based out of Lawton, Michigan. In addition to the immediate construction jobs the project will generate, full staffing of medical and administrative positions will provide over 40 permanent new jobs in the community by December of 2013.
