A California-based snack food manufacturer is shutting down a plant in Fishers and will cut approximately 100 employees. In a federal filing, Diamond Foods Inc. (Nasdaq: DMND) says it expects to complete the closing by early next year.
The company attributes to closure to a decision to eliminate some product lines such as peanuts and the Harmony brand.
Diamond Foods acquired Harmony Foods Corp. in 2006 for $18 million.
The company says it will eventually manufacture all Emerald brand products in a California facility.
Diamond says it will offer severance and employment support to the affected workers.
