The Purdue University College of Engineering is planning to add more than 100 faculty members during the next five years. The university says it is part of a plan to increase enrollment, boost the university's profile and enhance the value of a Purdue engineering degree.
Acting President Tim Sands says it fits into a national effort to graduate an additional 10,000 engineers each year.
The college is planning to increase undergraduate enrollment by nearly 700 and graduate student enrollment by up to 800.
Purdue says additional staff members will be hired to support the increases in students and faculty.
