Production has resumed at an Indiana ethanol operation, which had been offline since June. Texas-based Valero Energy Corp. (NYSE: VLO) owns the Linden plant and a company spokesman tells Inside INdiana Business it "became feasible to operate" again because ethanol markets have improved.
Bill Day says Valero will continue to "monitor margins and act accordingly."
The Montgomery County operation employs 65 full-time workers. The company says all stayed on during the shutdown for training and maintenance projects.
Day says the Linden plant is capable of producing 120 million gallons of the corn-based fuel per year.
