BLOOMINGTON, Ind. -- Indiana University announced today (September 14) an agreement with Elsevier's Science & Technology Books division to provide eTexts for students on all IU campuses.
"Elsevier has long been one of IU's largest content providers, and we are delighted to work with them in ways that reduce the costs of a great university education," said Brad Wheeler, IU vice president for information technology and chief information officer.
IU students will receive significant discounts on thousands of Elsevier eTexts, from imprints such as:
Academic Press (science, forensics, engineering, business)
Anderson Publishing (criminal justice)
Butterworth-Heinemann (science, engineering, business, security)
Morgan Kaufmann (computing)
Syngress (computer security)
"We're excited to be part of this new model for delivering Elsevier's cutting-edge content to students," said Suzanne BeDell, managing director, Elsevier Science & Technology Books. "Using the eTexts platform, Elsevier's foundational content will be delivered to students with the flexibility they demand and the analytics instructors need."
IU faculty can now choose digital texts from McGraw Hill, Pearson, Wiley, Elsevier Science & Technology Books, Flat World Knowledge, Harvard Business School Publishing, IU Press, MacMillan, and W.W. Norton -- with other publishers to come.
As always, students and faculty who need help accessing eTexts can contact the Adaptive Technology and Accessibility Center for assistance.
Spring 2013 signups opened on seven of eight IU campuses on September 10, and IU Bloomington signups will open on September 20. Ordering on all campuses ends on November 7. Learn more at http://etexts.iu.edu/signup/index.php.
