An annual soccer festival is underway in Fort Wayne. Visit Fort Wayne says the 2012 Shindigz National Soccer Showcase features one of Mexico's top professional soccer clubs and is expected to have an economic impact of $200,000.

One of Mexico’s top professional soccer clubs, Chivas Guadalajara U-21, along with the University of Notre Dame, Indiana University, IPFW and a handful of premiere college soccer programs will compete in the 2012 ShindigZ National Soccer Showcase in Fort Wayne.
Chivas takes on Notre Dame on August 16 and Indiana on August 18. Both contests will kick-off at 7 p.m. EST, and be held at the Hefner Soccer Complex on the campus of IPFW. The Indiana-Chivas matchup will be televised on Fox Soccer Channel.
The Shindigz National Soccer Showcase will feature 12 college teams from across the country. Other schools participating this year are Duke, Michigan State, Xavier, Marquette, Louisville, Wisconsin, Ohio State, St. Francis and Indiana Tech. Area high school teams will participate in the showcase, as well.
Tickets can be purchased at the IPFW Ticket Office, with prices ranging from $5-$10 for general admission and $20 for a three-day pass.
