The IUPUI School of Informatics is participating in several events at Gen Con Indy as part of an educational partnership. The program includes a panel discussion with Gen Con LLC Chief Executive Officer Peter Adkison.

Indianapolis, Ind. -- As part of the partnership of Gen Con LLC and the School of Informatics at Indiana University-Purdue University Indianapolis (http://www.iupui.edu/impact/gencon2012/), IUPUI students and faculty today are involved in special events at Gen Con Indy 2012 at the Indianapolis Convention Center.
IUPUI is the first institution in the nation to participate in Gen Con’s Educational Partners Program.
IUPUI at Gen Con today, Aug. 17:
• IUPUI School of Informatics faculty member Mathew Powers and several informatics students are having lunch at the Colts Grille from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. IUPUI students who are in costume have been asked to entertain other patrons of the restaurant each day during Gen Con. In exchange for their time, the Colts Grille is offering IUPUI students discounts and meeting space.
• A panel discussion/Q-and-A will take place from 2 to 3 p.m. in Room 243 of the Convention Center. It will feature Peter Adkison, Wizards of the Coast founder and Gen Con CEO, and Larry Roznai, Mayfair Games CEO. Adkison and Roznai will speak for about 10 to 15 minutes and then take questions from a group of 40 to 50 School of Informatics students and alumni.
• At 3 p.m., Powers and his students will be filming an episode of Powers’ Web series outside his art space in the back of the large exhibit hall at Gen Con. Many of Powers’ drawings are on display at Gen Con.
