South Bend Tech Park Hits Milestone
A South Bend-based data center is set to become the first privately-held business in the city's Ignition Park. Data Realty LLC President Rich Carlton says the company caters to mid-sized businesses and offers clients the option of part ownership. Carlton spoke to Inside INdiana Business Host Gerry Dick about the company's growth and South Bend's economic momentum.
Data Realty was founded in 2010. Construction is underway at Ignition Park. Carlton says the company is investing $15 million in the initial construction project, and $40 million in future phases. When the center is complete, the company plans to hire 15 new workers.
Carlton says the center is a "huge opportunity for South Bend" and says the city is experiencing economic momentum. He says, "if South Bend was a stock, I'd be buying."
