City to Lay Out Stadium Demolition Plans
The Evansville Department of Parks and Recreation plans to hold a special meeting today to lay out initial plans for the demolition of Roberts Stadium. The department is moving ahead with Mayor Lloyd Winnecke's plan to convert the area into green space.

A task force charged with coming up with ideas for the space suggested alternatives such as a swimming facility and an extreme sports park. Winnecke says he believes the proposals are not financially practical and would not help the site complete with the recently completed Ford Center.
The Department of Parks and Recreation unanimously approved Winnecke's plan earlier this month.
