The Economic Development Coalition of Southwest Indiana is hoping to leverage this week's professional golf tour event at Victoria National Golf Club in Warrick County into some international exposure. The tournament is being broadcast to more than 170 countries on the Golf Channel. The coalition, along with other groups, will air more than 40 television commercials during the four days of the event, focusing on business climate, health care and quality of life.
The Chamber of Commerce of Southwest Indiana and the Evansville Convention & Visitors Bureau are partnering on the effort, which drives views to a shared web portal, www.gosouthwestindiana.com.
The television campaign is described as the latest layer of an overall marketing strategy launched last year.
The effort was an outcome of a regional asset-based strategic analysis of the region.
The United Leasing Championship, which is a stop on the PGA's Nationwide Tour, runs through July 1 at Victoria National.
