News Release

The Mind Trust on Monday will make an exciting announcement about a new effort to launch world-class public charter schools in Indianapolis. The Indianapolis-based education reform nonprofit will unveil the first teams selected to receive $1 million through its nationally unique Charter School Incubator.

The Mind Trust launched the incubator in October 2011 to help innovative leaders start some of the nation's best public charter schools in Indianapolis. Applications for the first round of awards were due in February, and 35 teams from 18 states applied. The inaugural recipients that will be announced Monday were chosen after a rigorous, four-month review process that included experts from across the country. Because of these awards, new networks of schools will be launched in Indianapolis, including some schools with models never before seen in the city.
