Roberts Stadium Decision Set For Today
The Evansville Department of Parks and Recreation is set to announce its decision today on the fate of abandoned Roberts Stadium. The determination will be based on Mayor Lloyd Winnecke's recommendation to demolish the arena and turn it into green space.
Winnecke came to his conclusion after convening a task force that came up with hundreds of potential new uses.
He said none of the plans would help the site compete with the recently completed Ford Center.
Jay Ritter, interim president of the board of park commissioners is scheduled to give the presentation.
