The Evansville IceMen and the National Hockey League's Columbus Blue Jackets have announced an affiliation agreement. The Indiana team announced a move to the ECHL last month.
Our partners at the Evansville Courier & Press report the agreement takes effect in the 2012-2013 season.
In a statement released by the team, general manager and head coach Rick Kromm said the affiliation gives the IceMen a "solid foundation" as they begin play in the new league.
The Fort Wayne Komets have also moved to the ECHL, but have not yet announced an affiliation agreement.
