IU Health Saxony Names Chief Medical Officer

Fishers, Ind.---Indiana University Health Saxony Hospital has named Gaurav Arora, MD, FACEP, as the new Chief Medical Officer (CMO) for the hospital. As CMO, Dr. Arora will support the overall operations, administration and medical management of the clinical program for the organization. He will work with IU Health Saxony President and CEO, Jon Goble, to establish strategic, financial, operational, clinical and administrative goals and policies.

Dr. Arora has served as the medical director for emergency services at IU Health Saxony since the hospital opened December 1, 2011 and is an Assistant Professor of Clinical Emergency Medicine with the Indiana University School of Medicine. He previously served as medical director of the emergency department and president of the medical staff at Henry County Hospital and also served as a staff physician for the Level 1 trauma center and tertiary care referral center for Indiana University Health Methodist Hospital. He is certified by the American Board of Emergency Medicine and is a Fellow of the American College of Emergency Physicians.

"The role of chief medical officer is critical to the success of the hospital and the patients and communities that we serve and we looked forward to the expertise and leadership that Dr. Arora will bring to this role," said Jon Goble, President and CEO for IU Health Saxony. "Dr. Arora is a great asset to the hospital and is a respected leader."

Arora received his bachelor's degree in economics from Case Western Reserve University in Ohio, and his medical degree from Medical College of Ohio. He is currently pursuing an MBA through the Indiana University Kelley School of Business.

Arora and his wife Rebecca reside in Indianapolis with their three children, Anya, Ava and Asha.
