China Trip Set to Begin

Lieutenant Governor Becky Skillman is set to leave today for an economic development trade mission to China. Skillman will lead a 37-member delegation of political and business leaders on the trip. In a recent Studio(i) interview with Host Gerry Dick, the lieutenant governor highlights the importance of Chinese commerce for the state.

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. - Lt. Governor Becky Skillman will lead a 37-member delegation of mayors, business and agriculture leaders on an economic development mission to China, June 11-17.

“The men and women of this delegation will help strengthen Indiana’s 25-year relationship with our sister-state, Zhejiang province,” Lt. Governor Becky Skillman said. “With China’s growing needs, we have an even greater opportunity to bring additional job growth and investment to the entire state.”

This will be Lt. Governor Skillman’s sixth international trade mission. Tax dollars will not be used to fund this trade mission, as private sponsors will cover all costs. Sponsors of the trip are Architectural Stone Sales, Dow AgroSciences LLC, EHOB Inc., FedEx, First Farmers Bank & Trust, Flanner and Buchanan Funeral Centers, Hoosier Energy, Ice Miller LLP, Indiana Farm Bureau, Louis Dreyfus Commodities, Mno-Bmadsen Economic Development, Monarch Beverage Company, Vera Bradley and Whiteshire Hamroc.
