Gibson County Planning Japan Trade Visit

A delegation from Gibson County is leaving today on a trade and educational mission to Japan. Todd Mosby, chief executive officer of the Gibson County Economic Development Corp., plans to visit Tahara City this week with county teachers and students to market the southern Indiana region.

PRINCETON, Ind. - A second Friendship City visit by Gibson County students and teachers has been in the plans for two years; on Monday, June 4 the delegation takes flight. The Gibson County Economic Development Corporation is sponsoring the visit to Gibson County’s Friendship City, Tahara City, Japan.

Leaving from Evansville Regional Airport, Monday, June 4, Experience Tahara Too, will again pair-up a visit in Tahara City with students and educators from Georgetown, Kentucky. Georgetown, Kentucky is a Sister City to Tahara City.

Experience Tahara Too, is the second trip sponsored by GCEDC which is a dedicated educational exchange. The students and teachers will stay with host families while attending school and touring different islands and landmarks in Japan.

Gibson County Economic Development Corporation President/CEO B. Todd Mosby will represent Gibson County as a part of the delegation; he will use the opportunity to strengthen the relationship between Gibson County and Tahara City. He will also meet with several key leaders and spend time marketing Gibson County and Southwest Indiana to Japanese corporations.
