Gregg Expected to Pick Simpson
An announcement is expected today from Democratic gubernatorial candidate John Gregg about his choice for running mate in November's election. Our partners at WISH-TV report he is expected to name State Senator Vi Simpson (D-40) as his selection to be the party's Lieutenant Governor candidate. The announcement is slated for this afternoon at the Statehouse.
The anticipated move will come one day after Republican gubernatorial hopeful Mike Pence announced State Representative Sue Ellspermann has his selection to be the party's Lieutenant Governor candidate.
Both choices need to be approved at party conventions next month.
Libertarian Rupert Boneham is also running for governor. His running mate is Brad Klopfenstein, who is the past executive director of the party in Indiana.
