BKD Promotes Dickman

Indianapolis, Ind. -- BKD, LLP, one of the nation’s top 10 CPA and advisory firms, has tapped Regional Managing Partner Ted Dickman as its next CEO, effective Friday, June 1, 2012.

Dickman will be in charge of nearly 2,000 employees who serve clients in all 50 states and internationally. He has spent the last four years as regional managing partner of BKD’s East Region, strategically coordinating operations in Indiana, Kentucky and Ohio, in addition to serving on the firm’s Governing Board. Prior to that, he was managing partner of offices in Cincinnati, Ohio, as well as offices in Indianapolis, Bloomington, Fort Wayne and Merrillville, Indiana.

BKD’s Governing Board recommended Dickman for the position, and the decision was ratified by the firm’s 250 partners.

Dickman succeeds CEO Neal Spencer, who announced in February his decision to step down. During Spencer’s five-year tenure, BKD expanded into several markets through acquisition, adding offices in Texas and Mississippi.

Dickman entered the public accounting field in 1983 as a tax professional in the firm’s Indianapolis office and was elected partner in 1991. He is a 1983 graduate with distinction of Indiana University, Bloomington, with a B.S. degree in accounting.
