Indianapolis-based BKD LLP has named Ted Dickman its new chief executive officer. The Indiana University graduate has been serving as a regional managing partner for the CPA and advisory firm.

Indianapolis, Ind. -- BKD, LLP, one of the nationís top 10 CPA and advisory firms, has tapped Regional Managing Partner Ted Dickman as its next CEO, effective Friday, June 1, 2012.

Dickman will be in charge of nearly 2,000 employees who serve clients in all 50 states and internationally. He has spent the last four years as regional managing partner of BKDís East Region, strategically coordinating operations in Indiana, Kentucky and Ohio, in addition to serving on the firmís Governing Board. Prior to that, he was managing partner of offices in Cincinnati, Ohio, as well as offices in Indianapolis, Bloomington, Fort Wayne and Merrillville, Indiana.

BKDís Governing Board recommended Dickman for the position, and the decision was ratified by the firmís 250 partners.
Dickman succeeds CEO Neal Spencer, who announced in February his decision to step down. During Spencerís five-year tenure, BKD expanded into several markets through acquisition, adding offices in Texas and Mississippi.

Dickman entered the public accounting field in 1983 as a tax professional in the firmís Indianapolis office and was elected partner in 1991. He is a 1983 graduate with distinction of Indiana University, Bloomington, with a B.S. degree in accounting.
