Plainfield, Ind. -- Westgate Chrysler Jeep Dodge RAM is pioneering the way for more environmentally-friendly auto dealerships, becoming the first in the U.S. to install plasma lighting throughout its entire lot.
Plasma lighting is cutting-edge technology that uses a radio-frequency (RF) amplifier to excite gases and metals inside a quartz bulb. The result is similar to a tiny ball of sun that uses approximately one-quarter the electricity of a standard bulb of the same brightness.
The 57 lights on the Westgate lot, installed by Verde Distribution, will save enough energy to power nearly 20 average households.
“Westgate Chrysler Jeep Dodge RAM is proud to be the first auto dealership in the nation to take this bold step,” said Westgate General Manager Jeff Reynolds. “In addition to offering energy-efficient vehicle options for our customers, Westgate is making strides to operate our business in a greener way.”
