The Indiana Health Industry Forum is scheduled to release its five-year strategic plan for the state's health science sector today. Chief Executive Officer Kristin Jones says the report will detail challenges including funding, training and public policy. She says BioCrossroads' $8.25 million Indiana Seed Fund II will go a long way to address financial hurdles, but earlier-stage funding is needed as well.

On Tuesday at 11:15 am, in conjunction with its annual meeting, the Indiana Health Industry Forum (IHIF) will be releasing a Statewide Strategic Plan for Indiana's Health Science Sector: 2012-2017. Based on input from medical device manufacturers, pharma/biotech companies and related industry members and thought leaders from across the state, the plan addresses challenges and proposes action steps in five key areas specific to the health science sector: capital formation, research and technology commercialization, business climate, workforce and education, and public policy.
Consistent with our function and mission, IHIF is proud to present this five year plan which is intended to provide direction and impetus to move Indiana's health science sector forward.
