A Florida-based charter school company is about to enter Indiana. Charter Schools USA will oversee the turnaround at three Indianapolis schools. Chief Executive Officer Jonathan Hage says they will remain traditional public institutions, but will have a new curriculum and an effort will be made to get parents more involved. In an interview with Inside INdiana Business Host Gerry Dick, Hage says his company could also have two new K-6 charter schools in Indianapolis ready for this fall.
Hage says his company is expected to employ 400 in Indiana and 100 of those positions will be new.
The average salary will be more than $50,000.
Hage also says Indiana is set up for education reform and some of the concepts passed by the legislature are starting to be implemented.
