Massachusetts-based Raytheon Co. (NYSE: RTN) says it is eliminating positions at its Fort Wayne plant. A corporate spokesman tells The Journal Gazette the cuts will affect "several dozen" employees. Raytheon cut 60 jobs from the Allen County plant in March.
The Massachusetts-based defense contractor says workers will be able to apply for other jobs within the company. Laid off employees will also be offered job search help and severance pay.
Raytheon reported a work force of 1,040 after cutting 60 jobs in March. A spokesman says decreased demand for the company's products is partially to blame for the layoffs.
