Logansport Hospital Appoints CFO

Logansport Memorial Hospital has hired a new chief financial officer. Julia Berndt held the same title at Sunlink Health System in Atlanta, Georgia and Health Management Associates in Naples, Florida. She will begin her new role April 25.

Logansport Memorial Hospital is pleased to announce that Julia L. Berndt, MBA, has agreed to join Logansport Memorial Hospital as Chief Financial Officer. Ms. Berndt will begin on April 25, 2011.

“Julia’s experience in both the profit and not-for profit healthcare settings is a great fit for us at this time,” said David Ameen, President and CEO of Logansport Memorial Hospital. “The Executive Leadership Team and the Board of Trustees were very impressed by Julia’s experience as a hospital CFO, and we look forward to working with her.”

Berndt served as Chief Financial Officer for the Sunlink Health System, Atlanta, Georgia, and Health Management Associates, Naples, Florida. In addition, Julia was the Director of Strategic and Financial Planning for Blanchard Valley Health System, Findlay, Ohio. “I am excited to join the Logansport Memorial Hospital team and participate in the Logansport/Cass County community,” Berndt commented.

Julia Berndt holds an MBA from Eastern Michigan University, Ypsilanti, Michigan, and a BBA in Accounting and Healthcare Administration from Western Michigan University, Kalamazoo, Michigan.

Berndt is a member of the Healthcare Financial Management Association.

Logansport Memorial Hospital is an 83-bed, HFAP accredited, regional medical center providing healthcare services to residents in Cass County and the surrounding areas of north central Indiana.
