Pence Says Decision is Close
Congressman Mike Pence (R-6) says he will keep an end of the month deadline to make an announcement about his political future. During an online interview this week with the website Politico, Pence confirmed that a decision on the direction of his career will come by the end of January. He has been comtemplating options that include running for governor or president.

If he decides to run for governor, many political observers consider him the leading candidate for the Republican nomination.
Pence's road to that position was apparently cleared when current Lieutenant Governor Becky Skillman decided not to run for the state's top political job, due to health reasons.
