Clarian Health officially becomes Indiana University Health today. The health system says the new identity affirms its partnership with Indiana University School of Medicine. Hospital and education leaders will participate in a special dedication ceremony in Indianapolis this afternoon. In a Studio(i) interview in May, President and Chief Executive Officer Dan Evans talked to Gerry Dick about the name change.

INDIANAPOLIS - Clarian Health will officially adopt its new identity – Indiana University Health – in a special dedication ceremony on Monday, Jan. 24. The new name affirms the health system’s unique partnership with Indiana University School of Medicine – one of the nation’s largest medical schools – and is aligned with its vision to provide one standard of preeminent, patient-centered care to the people of Indiana and beyond.
Who: Join Daniel F. Evans, Jr., president and CEO, Clarian Health; Dr. D. Craig Brater, dean, IU School of Medicine and vice president for university clinical affairs, Indiana University; Michael McRobbie, president, Indiana University; Clarian Health hospital CEOs from across the state including Clarian Arnett Health CEO, Al Gatmaitan; Jeff Bullmahn, Fort Wayne resident and Clarian Health patient; and his wife, Tammy.
· Jeff, a 34 year-old farmer, was diagnosed with anaplastic astrocytoma- a malignant tumor with string-like tentacles that infiltrate surrounding brain tissue – and given less than two years to live. He sought a second opinion at Clarian Health and became the first person in the world to have a unique awake brain mapping procedure performed to remove the tumor from part of his brain that controls his vision.
