The leader of the state's life sciences initiative is outlining his goals for the next year to help Indiana maintain momentum in the competitive sector. BioCrossroads President David Johnson says the organization will continue to identify the impact of health care reform on Indiana companies, advance innovation clustering opportunities and gather additional funding for startups. Johnson describes 2010 as "a year of progress and national recognition" for Indiana.
He points to the creation of the OrthoWorx initiative for the Warsaw-area's medical device sector, along with a $16 million federal grant for the Indiana Health Information Exchange as some highlights of 2010.
Johnson says BioCrossroads plans to launch a breakfast discussion series in the new year entitled "Frameworx." The first session, focusing on health care innovation, will take place in January.
He touched on the accomplishments and goals during his State of the Life Sciences Industry address at this week's Indiana Life Sciences Summit.
