Press Release
Indianapolis, IN (August 16, 2010)—A new Dunkin’ Donuts restaurant in Indianapolis will celebrate its grand opening Friday, August 20. The restaurant, located at 5600 N. Michigan at Kessler, is the first new Dunkin’ Donuts to open in Central Indiana in 17 months.
The restaurant is owned and operated by DH Restaurant Group with Gavin and Kim Hart, who opened their first Dunkin’ Donuts in 2008 and currently are involved with 15 locations in the Indianapolis area and Fort Wayne. They plan to open five more new Dunkin’ Donuts in Central Indiana creating a total of 150 new jobs by the end of 2011.
“This opening is a big one for us, and for the local economy which has certainly suffered along with the rest of the country from the tightening of the lending industry and the loss of jobs,” says Gavin Hart.
Hart said his network recently selected Peyton Manning Children’s Hospital at St. Vincent, located at 2001 West 86th Street and less than 10 minutes from the new Dunkin’ Donuts, as his charity of choice. Hart plans to sponsor a variety of store events during the year to benefit the hospital.
Gavin and Kim Hart will present a check for $3,000 to the hospital at 9 a.m. at the grand opening on Aug. 20. In addition, anyone who brings a new children’s book or makes a donation to the hospital will receive a coupon for a Free Medium Coffee. The books will be collected onsite in a new wagon displaying a DUNKIN’ DONUTS license plate that will later be used to transfer patients at the hospital. The donated books will be given to hospital patients, who get to choose a new book each day of their hospital stay.
Hart said the following Dunkin’ Donuts locations in Central Indiana also will join the new restaurant at Michigan and Kessler in the “free coffee for books” promotion. All day on Aug. 20, these locations will distribute coupons for Free Medium Coffee to anyone who brings in a new book or makes a donation to Peyton Manning Children’s Hospital.
