Indianapolis and state officials are calling on central Indiana residents to begin the new year on solid financial footing. They are holding an event today with representatives from financial institutions to help individuals develop financial goals for 2010. Indianapolis First Lady Winnie Ballard is also challenging residents to save at least a small amount of money each month throughout 2010.

INDIANAPOLIS -- Indianapolis First Lady Winnie Ballard, Secretary of State Todd Rokita and Treasurer of State Richard Mourdock are joining in an effort to help Central Indiana residents begin 2010 on solid financial footing by making New Year’s “Cash Resolutions.”
On December 29, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. representatives from state and city offices as well as local financial institutions will be on hand to help residents develop a set of financial fitness goals for the coming year and to connect with community resources available
to help make the resolutions a success.
In addition, First Lady Ballard is extending a challenge to all Indianapolis residents to begin the habit of saving even a small amount of money each month throughout 2010, and to share their “Cash Resolutions” with other residents through a dedicated page on www.indy.gov.
